Sea Sight Survey: Built for Reliability, Accuracy, and Global Deployment

When industry partners asked Chris and Harrison to combine their strengths, Sea Sight Survey was born out of that trust and recognition. Sea Sight Survey operates with a fleet and technology stack designed to support demanding marine construction and hydrographic survey projects with exceptional speed and accuracy.

Our primary vessels, the Peterson and Toughboat, both 25-foot platforms, deliver the stability and deck space needed for high-resolution multibeam and single-beam sonar acquisition in a wide range of environments. For shallow-draft operations, we deploy versatile 16-foot skiffs capable of maneuvering through tight or sensitive waterways where larger vessels cannot operate. When projects require mobility beyond the typical footprint, our inflatable Yukon boat can be shipped virtually anywhere in the world, allowing Sea Sight Survey to mobilize quickly without sacrificing quality or capability.

All vessels support custom mounting systems, including USM mounts for permanent installation and Portus pole configuration for rapid field setup, giving our team the flexibility to operate on almost any vessel of opportunity.

The software ecosystem that powers our workflows

At the center of our operations is ClamVision, a robust, 22-year-old positioning and machine-control platform developed and refined by Harrison Steves. ClamVision is known throughout the industry for its stability, intuitive interface, and long-standing record of performance in real-world marine construction environments. Its machine-control capabilities allow operators to visualize grade targets, maintain real-time precision, and execute dredging or construction tasks with dramatically fewer errors and less downtime.

Because ClamVision is secure, efficient, and purpose-built, it enables Sea Sight Survey to deliver data and machine-control guidance with a level of clarity competitors struggle to match. Together with RTK corrections provided through Point One Nav, our systems create a reliable positioning framework that supports the entire lifecycle of a marine construction project.

Field-Ready Technology Built to Meet Any Marine Challenge

This combination of vessels, sensors, mounting systems, and proprietary software allows Sea Sight Survey to work with exceptional efficiency and accuracy across inland waters, coastal zones, and remote global locations. Our equipment strategy is simple: build a field-ready system that adapts to the project, not the other way around.

By pairing rugged hardware with industry-leading machine control and positioning software, we ensure clients receive consistent, dependable results, whether they're navigating a large vessel through shallow waters or executing multi-phase marine construction. The outcome is a capability set that blends adaptability with technical precision, giving project owners and engineers the confidence they need to move forward without hesitation.

Harrison Steves

Harrison Steves has spent more than two decades in the marine construction industry. Harrison started marine construction in 2005 with Cable Arm, Inc. working under Raymond Bergeron. With his time at Cable Arm, Inc. Harrison learned his dedication, work ethic, and interest in electronics, software, and problem solving was a good match with the industry. Harrison guided the development of ClamVision software, performed installations, provided hydrographic survey services, and manned projects during this time. In 2023 he partnered with Chris Raymond to build a company that can be of greater value to any marine construction project by bringing survey, machine control, DQM compliance, consulting, and engineering under one roof. Harrison's commitment to the industry will continue to shape the company's growth and its reputation for excellence.

Christopher Raymond, PE

As a professional engineer, Chris Raymond brings extensive hydrographic survey and marine construction expertise to Sea Sight Survey. His experience comes from working for engineering firms, survey firms, and the majority as a project Manager/Lead Surveyor for a marine construction contractor. Now instead of hiring multiple companies to handle various tasks for one project, companies hire him and his company to handle all the tasks for one project! Chris is known for his practical, client focused approach, translating underwater conditions into information that teams can use immediately in the field. Chris's technical judgement and hands on experience remain central to the company's accuracy, responsiveness, and project specific insight.
